Dear all,

I am creating an online shop using OSCommerce. It is important that this site is as Search Engine Friendly as possible. I would also like to use feeds into shopping sites such as Froogle etc.

I have searched through the contributions pages and there seems to be a few to choose from. I was thinking of installing Header Tags and Ultimate SEO. I was wondering if this is a good idea or if anyone could advise a better combination to go for. Is there an RSS feed which anyone can recommend?

On a slightly different note the whole business will revolve around this shop. I therefore intend to install OSCommerce on the root and perhaps use Joomla on a sub domain for corporate information. I was wondering if there is a better way. It is all a bit of a minefield.

Any help would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.

Kind regards,

Luke

Thanks very much. I installed the Metatags and it works a treat.

There is much more to SEO than just metatags. Look for threads around here, there are eBooks that discuss it as well.

Besides meta tags, you can also improve:

- product descriptions

- category descriptions

- HTML validity

- URLs

- quality inbound links

- other informational pages that link to your products

- changes in HTML markup to titles your pages to make them stand out

- regular website updates (Google likes this, from what I understand).

There is much more to SEO than meta tags. In fact, it's widely held that most of the more popular search engines don't pay much attention to meta tags at all any more.

Good luck!
