acbouquet Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 I've been having problems with my opening page. All I wanted to do was change some text. But I've been getting error message after error message (see post http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/index.php?sho...mp;#entry954774 ) Finally, this morning out of sheer frustration, I tried my page with absolutely no code. I'm STILL getting an error message! Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/courdyj/public_html/includes/languages/english/index.php on line 31 Is there some other file I should be looking at? to fix these errors? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
ashrafzia Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 I think there is some text present with single or double quote like we'd or "hello" so u have to escape them like this we\'d. Check your text and try this.
stardot Posted October 26, 2006 Posted October 26, 2006 I am getting that same error, and it is blowing my mind! Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /var/www/html/catalog/includes/languages/english/index.php on line 13 Now, what is wierd is that I can ftp the default file into the folder, and it works fine. If I edit the file and save it, even if I do not change a single character, it gives me just a blank page with that error on it. I don't have to change anything, just open it and save it with the same file name. I have tried it using an online file manager, as well as notetab.exe, same result. Any help would be appreciated.
Guest Posted October 26, 2006 Posted October 26, 2006 Post your file here. It sounds like the text applications you are using are adding control characters. :/
