is there a way to setup oscommerce without having my domain pointing to it

I want to setup my store before having my domain pointing to my server. Is their anyway of accessing admin panel and all of its fonctions without having my domain pointing to my server.

install on your computer [localhost]

You can also use your IP and username. It could vary with hosts but is generally someting like http://IP NUMBER/~username/.

I have tried with IP address and password, that takes me to admin panel but thats it. The links in access panel brings me to "page your looking for is not available or has been removed"

why not create in a sub domain or a folder and once tested move into the root

my domain is already pointing to another server and the idea was to set up oscommerce before having my domain pointing to the new server. I guess i will have to install on my pc but I'm not quite sure how to go about it.

Not the password, the username. As I said though, it can vary with hosts so they should be able to point out the correct url.
