credit card payments

hi does anyone know how to accept credit cards other than via paypal, i do not have the credit card machines or anything, so at the moment i only have paypal as a form of payment which is losing me sales!

 

can anyone help?

There are many ways, depends on where in the world your business are located.... look at the payment modules in the contribution section for alternatives...

Hello Natasha,

 

People do not have to have a Paypal account to pay you by credit card through them.

 

You typically have to have a Merchant Account with your bank to accept "direct" Credit Card payments, and you'd have to install the Payment Module for your bank to route the payment processing to them.

 

Worldpay and 2Checkout work the same as Paypal as payment processors and I think the fees are higher.

 

If you offer Paypal, folk can pay with PayPal money or credit card if they don't have an account.

 

Check out all the options and fees before you commit to any one payment processor.

double check this for the UK though ... I'm pretty sure paypal CC payment without an account is NOT possible in Germany. UK clients often use Worldpay or Protx payment gateways. Authoriznet is common also (you need a contribution for it, the default one does not support CVV).
