oscommerce not in the root

I am not setting oscommerce on the root folder and having problems. I have tried to put the online store at www.mydomain.com/catalog/index.php The index page comes up fine but when you brows to additional pages in the site the serve can not find the page. I have tried to adjust the paths in the configure.php but still not getting any results. This is what my latest change has been. Anyone know if I am even in the ball park?

   define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://mydomain.com'); // eg, http://localhost - should not be empty for productive servers
 define('HTTP_CATALOG_SERVER', '');
 define('HTTPS_CATALOG_SERVER', '');
 define('ENABLE_SSL_CATALOG', 'false'); // secure webserver for catalog module
 define('DIR_FS_$DOCUMENT_ROOT', 'http://mydomain.com/catalog/'); // where the pages are located on the server

Thank you,

Steve

  define('HTTP_CATALOG_SERVER', '');
 define('HTTPS_CATALOG_SERVER', '');

need completing...

like:

	define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://xxx.co.uk');
define('HTTP_CATALOG_SERVER', 'http://xxx.co.uk');
define('HTTPS_CATALOG_SERVER', 'https://xxx.co.uk');
define('ENABLE_SSL_CATALOG', 'true');
define('DIR_FS_DOCUMENT_ROOT', '/var/www/vhosts/xxx.co.uk/httpsdocs');

don't take define('DIR_FS_DOCUMENT_ROOT', as gospel.. it depends on your server setup.

and that's just the admin configure.. check your includes/configure.php :)

one-click installation..

Thank you, the admin side is working great now, the catalog side still will not link. I have the catalog configure.php file the same, should it be different? I have a root folder with the catalog folder in it and the admin folder in the catalog folder. Anything you see that I have missed?

Thank you,

Steve

Sorry I should have posted the code to make more sence. This is the catalog configure.php

// Define the webserver and path parameters
// * DIR_FS_* = Filesystem directories (local/physical)
// * DIR_WS_* = Webserver directories (virtual/URL)
 define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://mydomain.com'); // eg, http://localhost - should not be empty for productive servers
 define('HTTP_CATALOG_SERVER', 'http://mydomain.com');
 define('HTTPS_CATALOG_SERVER', 'https://mydomain.com/catalog');
 define('ENABLE_SSL_CATALOG', 'false'); // secure webserver for catalog module
 define('DIR_FS_$DOCUMENT_ROOT', 'http://mydomain.com/catalog'); // where the pages are located on the server
 define('DIR_WS_ADMIN', '/admin/');
 define('DIR_FS_ADMIN', DIR_FS_DOCUMENT_ROOT . DIR_WS_ADMIN);
 define('DIR_WS_CATALOG', '/catalog/');
 define('DIR_FS_CATALOG', DIR_FS_DOCUMENT_ROOT . DIR_WS_CATALOG);
 define('DIR_WS_IMAGES', 'images/');
 define('DIR_WS_ICONS', DIR_WS_IMAGES . 'icons/');
 define('DIR_WS_CATALOG_IMAGES', DIR_WS_CATALOG . 'images/');
 define('DIR_WS_INCLUDES', 'includes/');
 define('DIR_WS_BOXES', DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'boxes/');
 define('DIR_WS_FUNCTIONS', DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'functions/');
 define('DIR_WS_CLASSES', DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'classes/');
 define('DIR_WS_MODULES', DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'modules/');
 define('DIR_WS_LANGUAGES', DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'languages/');
 define('DIR_WS_CATALOG_LANGUAGES', DIR_WS_CATALOG . 'includes/languages/');
 define('DIR_FS_CATALOG_LANGUAGES', DIR_FS_CATALOG . 'includes/languages/');
 define('DIR_FS_CATALOG_IMAGES', DIR_FS_CATALOG . 'images/');
 define('DIR_FS_CATALOG_MODULES', DIR_FS_CATALOG . 'includes/modules/');
 define('DIR_FS_BACKUP', DIR_FS_ADMIN . 'backups/');

I have not set up sll yet so I know that is not right. Can anyone see anything wrong.

  • 5 weeks later...

Here is the lattest. I almost have the catalog working, but for some reason "dir_ws_http_catalog" shows up instead of /catalog/index.php....... on the address bar It should look something like this: www.mydomain.com/catalog/index.php/?cPath=21_24&osCsid=5558b62b0d0

but instead it looks like http://mydomain.comdir_ws_http_cataloginde...789b7e2d079fb2f If anyone has an idea please let me konw.

Thank you,

Steve
