Guest Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 Hello, I have a problem with this osCommerce webstore that I have to get running. It was installed and tweaked by someone who had no experience with this at all and when he didn't succeed in successfully getting it running, I was asked to have a look at it. I'm no programmer or php-wizkid myself, but I already have 2 other stores running properly and feel like I know what I'm doing. I managed to solve all of the problems I encountered at this new store, but one. And that is a major one, which I don't understand where it's coming from. This is the problem. When I visit the webstore in Internet Explorer (PC and Mac) it seems to work properly, but when I try to add a product to my cart (either by "buy now" or "add to cart") the product is not being added to the cart, the cart remains empty. The strange thing is that it DOES WORK in Firefox and Netscape. So from a non-Explorer point of view I could tell you that this webstore functions as it should, but fron an Explorer point of view it's useless. Does anybody know where this comes from and how to solve this? Thanks!
ComicWisdom Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 This is a non-techical fix, but an idea. But did you try replacing the product_info.php just in case the person before you tried to hack it? Just between us, remember there are only 10 kinds of people in the world; those who understand binary and those who don't!! Remember, learning is a "do-it-yourself" experience; although, not necessarily a "do-it-BY-yourself" experience. The quickest way to learn is to forget to BACKUP!
Guest Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 I've done this, but this doesn't solve this issue. I expect the problem to be in the application_top.php file, but I couldn't find anything strange in there.
kitcorsa Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 is this a the case with all oscommerce stores or just an isolated issue??
Guest Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 as far as I'm concerned, it's an isolated issue.
graysonhobby Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 Strangly enough, we are in the process of mirgating hosting companies and now we have the same error. We did buy a new domain so Im thinking the sessions is still pointing to the old domain... So if anyone can chime in here and tell us how to dump the Sessions that would be great.
