paypal_ipn error on install attempt

I'm trying to install paypal_ipn but get the following error:

 

Fatal error: Cannot instantiate non-existent class: paypal_ipn in /home/thechoco/public_html/oscommerce/admin/modules.php on line 57

 

Line 57 says this:

 

$module = new $class;

 

Please help! We receive payment but not the order information. I've tried disabling the old paypal module. Do I need to remove it all the way?
