Multiple emails to customer, none to store owner

Hi -

OK, I am a relative newbie, and really puzzled on this one.

I have my e-mail addresses set in the Admin module as follows:

e-mail address (e-mail address of store owner) = nicole @fiberstoinspire.com

e-mail from (the address used in sent e-mails) = owner @fiberstoinspire.com

send extra order e-mails to = myaddress @commspeed.net

[spaces before @ added by me for posting -- they do not appear IRL]

I've been placing some test orders, and when I place an order:

[email protected] gets nothing

[email protected] gets nothing

[email protected] gets one e-mail that is a copy of the order process email

but the customer gets SIX identical emails about the order!!

(FYI, I am successfully receiving other e-mails at the above addresses.)

I have my email options set to the following in the Admin panel:

transport: sendmail

linefeeds: LF

send emails: yes

I also tried smtp with CRLF, but the email formatting was wrong on the ones that got sent (double the spaces), and it did not solve the problem with no email going to the owner's e-mail address nor did it solve the problem of multiples.

Also, if I register for a new user account, the newly registered customer gets SIX welcome e-mails.

If I send an e-mail from the Contact Us page, nicole @fiberstoinspire receives two copies of the enquiry.

I appreciate advice on where to hunt in the code for the problem. I'd be happy to post my files, but I don't know which ones might be relevant.

Make that SEVEN e-mails to the customer placing an order, and TWO to the "send extra order e-mails" address. Still none to the store owner.

Similar problem here...

Tell a Friend, New Account Confirmation, Order Confirmation and Contact Us sends 2 emails to the user, and the TO lines of those emails are like:

[email protected], "Nic" <[email protected]>

Which I guess explains why they get 2 copies of the same email.

What's wrong! Where can it go wrong and put the same address twice (once with the name and once without) ?

If that's any help I just finished transferring the store to a new host by uploading the files and creating/dumping the DBs. Everything's fine but that.

Anyone ?
