JayS Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 Site looks great. Clean and professional. My only criticism is the language and currency buttons at the top of the layout. Do you plan to have more languages and currencies avaliable in the future? If not, I would say take them off and maybe replace it with some value props (i.e. 100% Satisfaction Guaranteed, coupons, savings, ect). Other than that, great job!
dkubik101 Posted October 12, 2006 Author Posted October 12, 2006 Sorry Dave, all I got was - Parse error: parse error, unexpected $end in /home/shoprustedrods.c/www/shoprustedrods.com/catalog/index.php on line 74 Sorry about that, I am working on the site right now. It should be done in a couple of hours. Thanks for the update though.
UncleSteve Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 Been back. Its a good looking site, however I feel you need to reduce the size of the header, as you have to scroll down for all the products as is usual, but it would be nice to see some without having to scroll. I asume you've used a template design, as it has a very similar layout to another site I have just seen that uses flash (which I hate on sales sites, as I want to shop, rather than sit around waiting for pages to load). Others may have other comments to make. I wish you well :) ____________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________
Andrew Yuen Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 I really like the overall look of this site. Consider adding a glow effect on the por 15 logo. Also consider adding a more descriptive title for SEO purposes. Other then that I suggest removing the product count. Also, your domain name seems to mask the actual url. Your SSL certificate is coming up with a name error. Andrew Yuen osCommerce, Community Team
dkubik101 Posted October 16, 2006 Author Posted October 16, 2006 Thank you for the comments. I really appreciate the input. I am currently getting the SSL Cert. and domain name issues taken care of from my hosting company. As for the header and some of the minor details, they are dictated by the customer. I will make a few changes here and there though. I don't remember off hand which contributions I used except for the admin login. I am going to add decorated packing slips and invoices eventually. Hopefully in the future, since my customers are distributors of POR-15 products, I might add affiliate tracking information for commissions. Anyways, Thanks Again.
dkubik101 Posted October 18, 2006 Author Posted October 18, 2006 Does anyone else have any criticism? I need as much help as I can get. Thanks, Dkubik101 [email protected]
forest23 Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 Nice looking site. I would remove the this product was added on...' bit as it doesn't mean anything to a customer. Also in the product descriptons say the high temp paints, I have to go into the more product info to see what the different temps each paint will withstand - would be more customer friendly to have ths on the category pages, rather than just repeating the product name, which is directly above anyway. Other than that I thought it looked good!
graysonhobby Posted October 29, 2006 Posted October 29, 2006 Looks great..I would just center the bottom footer.
Guest Posted October 29, 2006 Posted October 29, 2006 Why are you asking us on a opinion based on a template site you downloaded?
babylea Posted November 2, 2006 Posted November 2, 2006 Why are you asking us on a opinion based on a template site you downloaded? some people find templates easier but that doesn't necessarily mean that it is as it was when installed
dkubik101 Posted November 12, 2006 Author Posted November 12, 2006 Why are you asking us on a opinion based on a template site you downloaded? I used a basic template but did a lot of mods to it. I just wanted to verify functionality and cosmetic appearance. I didn't simply copy and paste a site and uploaded products. I'm sorry, but I think you asked a stupid question.
Guest Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 nice design but for SEO you'd rather use CSS menu instead of images.
