mrcreant Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 Hi, First a quick bit of background... I am using CREloaded 6.2 version of OSC (with Gifts/Vouchers mod installed), though I'm sure that and 2.2 version of OSC will have the same solution. My goal is to allow a client to buy a "subscription". I figured that using the voucher system or gift certificate should accomplish this. But after reading the various setting descriptions, i see a potential for either abuse, or frustration. My question is this: Let's say I want to sell a voucher/certificate for $50. Each product i sell is customizable with it's own text and costs $10 each. I want to collect this $50 up front, in order to allow the customer to buy at a reduced cost until the value of the certificate reaches the discounted price. Since the coupon system allows for each user to use this certificate x number of times, as well as each customer. How can i set the parameters to accomplish what I want? It seems that if I set the usage per customer to 1, and he chooses to not use the value all at once, but spread over the course of the year, it seems that 1 is not the right answer. Conversely, if I set it to another number, let's say 5, then theoretically, he can use the coupon 5 times at face value, which would then make me loose a lot of money. Can someone please tell me what the proper parameters are in order to resolve this dilemna? Or is it simply that the vouchers/coupons cannot be used at all for this type of implementation. And if that's the case, then what other solutions can I look at to do this? Thanks in advance for any and all constructive help that the community may offer. Peace.
