surley this cant be hard for a pro?

hello,

iv recently installed osc2 ms2.2 with a skin and have an error that has me stumped, iv searched for days to find resolution but with no luck.

 

the error is on the bottom of the page and says:

 

warning: mail() [function.mail]: SMTP server response:501 5.5.4 invalid address in c:\*******includes\classes\email.php on line 520

 

if i change the email transport method in admin from SMTP to sendmail it says the same error but in line 522.

i cant receive mail from the site.

iv read numerous posts re this problem and nothings worked.

 

has anyone had this error and fixed it?

 

any help would be verrrrry much appreciated

 

by the way, i have osc2.2 ms2, ms exchange 2003, win server 2003 all on local host.
