Password protect admin area

Hi,

 

Just wondering how you protect the admin area after you have installed the software on the server.

 

I have my site up and working fine, but anyone can access the admin area by placing a forward slash /admin after the domain. I know you can encrypt this area during installation but i cannot find a place to do it after.

You can use an .htaccess file in your admin directory or password-protect via your host's control panel if provided.
