emandell Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 I've removed the option to change languages but somehow when I look at my apache errors log there are several people (half) successfully using the site in Spanish. I know this because - 1. I'm getting a file does not exist error for - /var/www/html/includes/languages/espanol/images/buttons/button_go.gif which is quite right, it doesnt exist, becasue I dont support spanish 2. When I cut-n-paste the session id into a browser sure enough theres my site in spanish, rather badly because huge chunks are missing (as expected) Firstly should I delete the language? and secondly how-dey-do-dat?
Daemonj Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 Have you removed all of the unsupported languages from Admin > Localization > Languages? Have you removed all of the files and folders pertaining to the unsupported languages from inludes/languages? If you have done both of the above then that should not be possible. Daemonj Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 Yes, you should remove any entries pertaining to a language you do not support. Also be sure to remove the currency - Admin > Localization > Currencies. Since you haven't removed the language files, all anyone needs to know is the proper way to specify the language in osC and it will work in your store. warrenerjm Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 Hi This is interesting. I wasn't looking for this but I have wondered this too, because I only have english & no box to change to another language. I haven't done anything with all the other language files because i didn't know if they were needeed. It would save on space. Does this mean that all non english files should be deleted? Which ones specifically if this is true please? Julie
Daemonj Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 Delete the main language file from the includes/languages folder as well as the associated folder for that language.
