trying to resolve a cookie problem I typed in the path of my site into the cookie path in the configure.php file as soon as I did that I got this error on my site.

Warning: mysql_connect(): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (2) in /data/10/0/156/158/808973/user/829882/htdocs/shop/includes/functions/database.php on line 19

Unable to connect to database server!

I dont have a database.php file in that directory, I should also mention it was working until I did this.

I tried dropping in a clean configure.php file but I have a feeling I screwed something up!!! How do I get back to the way it was??

FYI I was trying to solve the site requesting I enable cookies even though they are turned on, needless to say I did not resolve the issue and now I have a huge issue!

If your install is new and you have not commited a bunch of data to your OSC install I would suggest just doing a new install. Sometimes something gets changed and it is easier to backup your database, do another install and upload the database back into place. Unless you have other mods done then you cant just do a new install.

Matt - did you ever solve this problem? I'm having the same issue, and I've come across others with the same issue, but I haven't found any solutions yet.
