Hi,

I've managed to forget the password I set to a client's admin area a few months back.

Can anyone tell me how i go about finding the password and/or resetting it?

Thanks

FTP into their site and delete/move the .htaccess file in their admin directory. That will get you into the admin. Then use whatever method you used before to password protect that directory.

Please use the forums for support! I am happy to help you here, but I am unable to offer free technical support over instant messenger or e-mail.

Why would you need it if it's your client's admin? trying to enter it after ownership has been transfered would be a hack, if your client needs to change the password he can do it from the configure.php / Cpanel / htaccess file. I doubt anyone who can charge money for creating a web site needs to ask such a basic question. Somthing smells fishy to me.

Hi,

I installed a basic version of oscommerce on their web space months ago at www.foot-shop.co.uk. I was meant to skin the site and add/remove features etc but they decided to put things on hold until recently when they decided to give it a go again. Its a couple of months since i installed it and my memory is pretty bad so i can't remember what the login details are at all.

As you can see there's nothing there at the moment!

I can assure you there's nothing fishy going on!

Thanks for your help though.

dynamoeffects: Well the thing is I didn't use any method to password protect the directory, it was done automatically, i assumed when I setup the oscommerce installation?
