nervejam Posted October 10, 2006 Posted October 10, 2006 Today, I added some new categories, then added some new items to the catalog, switched to the site, to view the result. NOTHING I tried adding /index.php on the end... NOTHING.. I've tried reloading the database from a backup as well. NOTHING... Any suggestions?
Chris Smith Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 http://www.cheapcarbooks.com Go back and try putting a S after http:// so it becomes https:// then another page appears saying there is a problem with your site security but continue anyway then it will show you a defult error page from Plesk which I asume is your host This is the Plesk? default page If you see this page it means: 1) hosting for this domain is not configured or 2) there's no such domain registered in Plesk. For more information please contact Administrator.

I've now sorted it by re-loading a default install of oscommerce, reconfiguring, and then uploading my customised php files. No doubt I've missed something, but I'm back up and running again. Total solution time 30 minutes, would have been quicker, but I was also fixing a Mercury listserver at the time. AND LET THIS BE A LESSON TO ALL OF US: MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A BACKUP OF YOUR SITE, AND THE DATABASE. Now, onto the next problem: why doesn't anyone ever buy anything?
Johnish Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 I made mine show a BLANK SCREEN because I turned on GZIP Compression, thinking that of course my shared host would support that!! WRONG! SO I turned it off and the store came back.
