fatbaldbob Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 Hi All, I've ben trying to change my layout from the usual one (with the header at the top of the page, then underneath we have the left column, main screen and then the right column - you know the one!). I wanted to make the left column take up ALL the left hand side of the screen, with the header above the main screen on the right (I have removed the right column). I thought it was just a simple case of changing the <table> entries around to achieve this, but after 2 days of trying, with Dreamweaver and Frontpage for help, I've had to stop as I'm clearly not getting anywhere! It seems no matter how I edit the <table> entries (and their associated <td> and <tr> entries) I always end up with the left column appearing ABOVE everything else :'( Can anyone help - I fear I cannot see the wood for the trees now.... My normal index page is http://www.doncasterpcs.co.uk/shop/index.php The "test" index page I have been messing with is http://www.doncasterpcs.co.uk/shop/newindex.php Any help would be appreciated  Cheers, Rob.
fatbaldbob Posted October 9, 2006 Author Posted October 9, 2006 OK, had a brainwave and managed to sort it 10 minutes after posting on here! I had to place column_left.php inside it's own <table></table> for some reason... Not sure if it's correct - but it works! Strange I solved this so soon after posting. Maybe this forum has some kind of "force" built in...
