Shipping calculators? Different origin zipcode for different manufacturer AND different customer location?

Hello,

Is it possible to have a variable origin zipcode (function of the customer's location and the product's manufacturer) and use this with UPS' or FedEx's rate calculator?

Has someone done this? Is there a way around this?

The reason I need to do this is because some of my products are dropshipped depending on customer location and depending on the manufacturer.

Thanks in advance.

Yes

Has someone done this?

No, not that anyone has released as a contrib. It has been done on other online ordering non os commerce websites as I have seen it a few times

Yes but you will need to program, or hire a programmer, to achieve this

I'd like to be able to do this too, but unfortunately I have to just stick to what we have at the moment.

The closest is MVS, I'm sure you've checked it out. It will let you specify origin zip code per product, but not based on the location of the customers zip code.

Thanks a lot for the info.

I will need a programmer for some other feature anyways so I'll try to find someone who can also do this.

Thanks again.
