dnobendno Posted October 6, 2006 Posted October 6, 2006 Oh, I have been struggling with this one, installed any number of excellent contributions that did not do exactly what I need, and I hope that someone out there has a good idea. I assembled a store for client who ships fruit tarts. There are three sizes. For the small, a minimum of four have to be in a shipping box, with a max of eight. For the medium and large, there are either 1 or 2 per box. So there is a handling fee each time a new box is added to the equation (e.g. one large and two medium, ad infinitum). I have tried building a handling fee into the product cost and basing the shipping on weight, but that is not working exactly right, because sometimes the shipping is too little, and sometimes it is way too much. Is there a way to specify that after two larger size tarts, or 8 smaller ones, that there would be an additional handling fee? That would pretty much solve the problem. At least until I encountered the next unforeseen problem. Please let me know if my explanations is unclear. I have been struggling with this long enough now that everything is unclear. Seriously. I put the coffee pot into the fridge this morning. Thanks, Dean Quote
kalamala Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 I have a similar problem. I need to add an additional charge for items that need special handling (like adding Dry Ice, or packaging perishable items). I wonder if there is any contribution for an additional charge for special handling. Quote
