jg2463 Posted October 5, 2006 Posted October 5, 2006 I would like to mhave my site open to the catalog as my home page. I tried to install leaving the install directory box blank. I get a error code that says I cannot have more than 1 scrip. I can install it as /catalog but I would prefer to just have it open to my catalog. Help!!

Do you mean you want to install osc under the domain root, like: www.yourdomain.com/ rathet than www.yourdomain.com/catalog/ ? Ken Yes that is what I would like to do. but when I use fantastico and leave the sub-directory blank (as instructed) it will not install. says there are two scripts.
♥Vger Posted October 5, 2006 Posted October 5, 2006 It depends on your hosting company. With some, like PowWeb, you can only install osCommerce in a folder called 'catalog'. With others the Fantastico install will only allow you to install it in a folder. The solution is to upload the latest version of osCommerce to the root level (one level down from the catalog folder) and run the osCommerce Installation - further details in the Quick Install Guide pinned to top of this page. Guest Posted October 5, 2006 Posted October 5, 2006 Hi, If you wanted a work around you could also use a redirect. I had fantastico also and I just forwarded the root domain to /catalog. Oliver hank you I will try that.
GemRock Posted October 5, 2006 Posted October 5, 2006 osCommerce is Fantastico enough. why would anyone need another Fantastico???
