glowpaint Posted October 5, 2006 Posted October 5, 2006 Hello A few weeks ago I was having major problems after installation, entering the oscommerce root and admin sections due to the .htaccess file. I was informed to add the following line to the above files (in root and admin), php_flag register_globals on Up until this point I still can not gain access to the store. I have read most of the documentation including the knowledge base but still it does not work, and I desperately want to see it in action. My web host uses, Server Linux Apache version 1.3.34 (Unix) PHP version 4.4.1 MySQL version 4.1.21-standard Could someone who understands the problem please send me the .htaccess files (root and admin) made to work on the above web host server, to my email address at [email protected] or write all correct text in a forum reply. Note I have also tried php_flag register_globals 1 php_flag register_globals 0 php_flag register_globals off and many more combinations, without success. Thank you in advance.

glowpaint Posted October 5, 2006 Author Posted October 5, 2006 Well I read the above article, played around alot and still no luck. I had a look at the "changing Admin Password flash tutorial, tried it and it doesn't work for me. I still get the bad password and 404 error as in tutorial /.htpasswds/shop/admin <----- password /public_html/shop/admin <---- admin does the above directory structures look correct? I even tried the Register Globals Patch Files on ur site. This reminds me of the days of DOS. Great if you know DOS, terrible if you don't Any more suggestions greatly appreciated Paul
