Autographs Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 Ok So I've posted that I ahve a problem with google a few times and I just keep getting told, Oh it will clear up, but it still hasn't and I was working today on sitemapping and ror and I noticed that when I tried to generate these files There are errors in it as well You should notice the function.main and function.require In the following ror.xml feed. Please take a look

ROR Sitemap for http://www.autographdealer.com/

ROR Sitemap for http://www.autographdealer.com/

<ror:about>sitemap</ror:about> <ror:type>SiteMap</ror:type>

<ror:updatePeriod>week</ror:updatePeriod> <ror:sortOrder>0</ror:sortOrder> <ror:resourceOf>sitemap</ror:resourceOf>

<ror:updatePeriod>week</ror:updatePeriod> <ror:sortOrder>0</ror:sortOrder> <ror:resourceOf>sitemap</ror:resourceOf>

<ror:updatePeriod>week</ror:updatePeriod> <ror:sortOrder>0</ror:sortOrder> <ror:resourceOf>sitemap</ror:resourceOf>

try it yourself at http://dlperry.com/ror_sitemap_generator.html Use http://www.autographdealer.com and you will get the same things... A ror sitemap should be HUGE for my site because we have over 2500 products, but SOMEWHERE something is screwing up and can't go through my page, ALTHOUGH I can just fine by clicking on links.. Does anyone have a clue! PLEASE let me know what you would do or how to fix this problem THANK YOU Greg
Autographs Posted October 5, 2006 Author Posted October 5, 2006 PROBLEM SOLVED!!! If anyone has this problem here was the fix... We had a hacker add a lang file to our store, well when we deleted it, I didn't set English BACK to DEFAULT Lang... As soon as I did.. Problem Fixed
jpweber Posted October 5, 2006 Posted October 5, 2006 If your ror sitemap is that big (over 1000 pages), then you need to download the desktop version of it, as opposed to the online version. You can do that Here, by downloading Ror Sitemap Generator 1.0 (for desktop). ... this will allow for up to 5,000 URL's to be crawled, and it's my prediction that this is where your errors are resulting from -- you're trying to use the on-the-fly sitemap generator, when you should be using the desktop program, due to the number of URL's you need crawled. Hope this helps.
