I downloaded the demo version of oscommerce and applied the registers_global patch. Now when I go through the installation steps i have a problem. Im able to setup up everything until step 7. that is when i get these messages: Warning: fopen(C:/****/catalog/includes/configure.php) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in C:\****\catalog\install\templates\pages\install_7.php on line 209 Warning: fputs(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in C:\****\catalog\install\templates\pages\install_7.php on line 210 Warning: fclose(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in C:\****\catalog\install\templates\pages\install_7.php on line 211 Warning: fopen(C:/****/catalog/admin/includes/configure.php) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in C:\****\catalog\install\templates\pages\install_7.php on line 259 Warning: fputs(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in C:\****\catalog\install\templates\pages\install_7.php on line 260 Warning: fclose(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in C:\****\catalog\install\templates\pages\install_7.php on line 261 The configuration was successful! It then gives me the choice of going to the administration tools or catalog. When i click on administration tools i get this message: Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Can't connect to MySQL server on 'localhost' (10061) in C:\****\catalog\admin\includes\functions\database.php on line 19 Unable to connect to database server! And when i click on catalog it starts the installation all over again. Someone please help me as i really want to buy an oscommerce template and get started with my online shop. Thanks.

zubairv85 Posted October 5, 2006 Author Posted October 5, 2006 Ok so i followed the install guide and it worked fine. Now when I try to go to the store it get this warning: Warning: I am able to write to the configuration file: C:\****\catalog/includes/configure.php. This is a potential security risk - please set the right user permissions on this file. I have already changed the entire catalog folder to read only yet I still get this message. What do you guys think could be wrong with it?
