drop-down search - bookstore

I mounted Oscommerce for a bookstore. Necessary to place option of search for author, in the quick search.

 

I found a case in this site:

The fact is that when mattering the data for store we insert in the field description:

Subject, Name of the Author, Publishing company, ISBN.

 

In the quick search we made adjustment so that the search is made in such a way by the name of the product and model ( oscommerce standard) as in the field description, where we place name of the author:

However, many books have headings with name of the author, therefore drop-down would like to place a menu to make this search for author.

 

I did Found the option to add new fields in oscommerce, for cases as this. But I did not found option to place menu drop down in the fast search.
