URL redirection in admin panel not working

Hi,

 

I created a symlink from my webroot to shorten the path from the domain root in any URLs.

 

/catalog now points to /oscommerce2/catalog

 

URL's embedded in the admin panel icons look like this below:

 

http://www.classiccarauto.com/catalog/admi...amp;osCAdminID=[xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx]

 

I've removed the ID # for this posting of course.

 

The page does not load, I get a 404 error.

 

I would like to use the shorter URL the symlinks provides, but maybe there is another way of doing this? Should I go back and re-install?
