Hello,

I have setup an oscommerce store and now has been running for over a year.

All seems to be working fine and well.

Our old company site was an html based site purely for product information only and customers use to request price via a form on our site which used to come to us as an email.

Now the old site is just sittig as we dont have enough time to update both sites.

What we idealy like to do is have the site same as our ecommerce site but without any prices just have a quote system on it for requesting prices, but would like to use the same database so that we dont have to update products in two places.

is this possible? how to achive this?

yes its possible, but if you use and display products without a price and they have to request a price, you have to reply surely it would be better just to link to your ecommerce site will save you alot of work can use url redirection

Or if both sites are on the same server and for some reason you need the site without the prices, you can setup a second oscommerce solution linked to the same DB, then edit out the price columns and the links to the shoping cart and order processing.

Just between us, remember there are only 10 kinds of people in the world; those who understand binary and those who don't!!

Remember, learning is a "do-it-yourself" experience; although, not necessarily a "do-it-BY-yourself" experience.

The quickest way to learn is to forget to BACKUP!

This is an intresting idea.

is it possible to insert a quote system into it where a fixed price can be assigned for a particular customer to who we are going to email back?

as each customer is different and we need to custom build a solution and the amount of work that goes into it and then build a quote.

can this be done?
