Product combining items with different tax rates

I have a problem listing a particular product on my store. The product is a gift which contains several items (in this case bottles of beer) which attract normal tax rate (UK VAT 17.5%). I also want to include a Book with the bottles of beer to present more of a gift item, however, books are exempt from tax. Is there any solution which would allow me to combine items attracting different tax rates into the same product or will I need to have two separate products which the customer will have to combine in their shopping cart (which detracts from the idea of a gift). Any ideas?
