mantisinc Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 Hello all, Was searching around online, and it has struck me how non search engine friendly the URL's are to products and catagories. Is there any way that you can include the product/category title in the URL of the product? Thanks in advance, Ian

mantisinc Posted October 4, 2006 Author Posted October 4, 2006 Thanks Bill, although I did briefly try this one...ass wasn't quite what I was looking for. It altered the URL so that is was shorter and more preceise, but didn't actually contain the product title. Any ideas?

You can spend a lot more time getting the url correct, but since it has little effect nowadays, you are wasting a lot of time. mantisinc Posted October 5, 2006 Author Posted October 5, 2006 Okay...well I will take your advice and skip that idea! Thanks again.
Jack_mcs Posted October 5, 2006 Posted October 5, 2006 Just to clarify, in your test of Ultimate SEO, you said it altered the title incorrectly. One way it will do that is by removing words that are 3 or less characters in lenght. That is an option in admin if that is happening to ou. There is also a limit on how long the title can be (this is oscommerce, not USEO) so that may have been part of your problem too.
