WocitJC Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 Can anyone suggest how to stop these images stretching and distorting?: http://www.cscleaningspecialists.co.uk/pro...products_id=383 Done a search and found a few posts but none work :( Cheers If digbydo's suggestion doesn't work, try this one - it worked for me. In the admin section, under configuration, choose Images. Second from the bottom will be "calculate image size" - turn this OFF and it should fix your problem. On my site, turning that off makes the images on the product pages show up at their true size.

Hi folks, Tried both of those - no use :( I thought I saw something similar on an installation a year or so ago but can't for the life of me think what the fix was :( Any other suggestions? Simon
xperience Posted October 4, 2006 Author Posted October 4, 2006 When I look at the HTML code for http://www.cscleaningspecialists.co.uk/pro...products_id=404 I see: <img src="product_thumb.php?img=images/White Hygiene Rolls.jpg&w=100&h=74" width="100" height="74" border="0" alt=" White Hygiene Rolls " title=" White Hygiene Rolls "> When you look at the image in the web page it's much larger thatn 74pixels deep - how is this!?
ashlyn Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 Most of your pics look ok.. is it only that one which is out of shape? ------------------------------------------------------- I used to be insane, but now I'm just nuts ;)

ashlyn Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 I see the image at 200x600 (firefox), so had a look at another (http://www.cscleaningspecialists.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=433) and see it at 200 width. So, obviously your small images are set to 200 width, yes? Have you tried setting the height instead? ------------------------------------------------------- I used to be insane, but now I'm just nuts ;)

In admin I have set: Small Image Width 100 Small Image Height 300 Heading Image Width 100 Heading Image Height 40 Subcategory Image Width 100 Subcategory Image Height 200 Calculate Image Size true Image Required true
ashlyn Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 That's where I get stuck! In admin I have set: Small Image Width 100 Small Image Height 300 Calculate Image Size true Image Required true Have you tried it like this: Small Image Width 100 Small Image Height 80 Calculate Image Size true Image Required true Width 100, Height 80, or variations of those sizes.. 120x90, 130x100 etc. If you keep the height less than the width, you shouldn't get the distortion, as most of your images seem to be wider than they are high. ------------------------------------------------------- I used to be insane, but now I'm just nuts ;)

Brilliant ashlyn! Not sure how those figures got set that way but changing them as you suggested fixed it brilliantly. Thanks ashlyn!
