essami Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 Hi, I installed the oscommerce a week ago and everything was working perfect. Then suddenly two days ago I was changing some info on a payment module and pressed the update button. Everything seemed ok except absolutely no changes were made! So no my situation is that no matter what I do no changes are being made to any modules, shipping, payment or taxes modules. Everything else with the admin panel works as before. I have tried re-installing the oscommerce with new freshly downloaded files four times. Deleted cookies from my browser and all offline content. Changed folders where to install the shop. Deleted all mysql tables. Created a new empty mysql database. And all combinations. Everything else is ok except when I hit update after editing modules the changes do not happen. Im totally confused. Ive searched the forum up&down and cant seem to find anything related to this problem. I would really really appreaciate help with this! Thanks in advance!!! Sami

Sami Hard to say on this one, however typically this is caused by you NOT uninstalling a payment / shipping module prior to updating it, which is a good rule of thumb to avoid issues. Uninstall the existing one if still installed, then reinstall it and see if it resolves the issue. And when I say "uninstall / reinstall" I mean going into ADMIN > MODULES > PAYMENT and uninstalling it via admin tools there, then installing it again. Worst case if that doesnt work after you reinstall again, uninstall once more...delete the corresponding /includes/modules/payments/ files for that one, then reupload the NEW ones you updated, then reinstall via admin and see if it resolves. Hi! Thanks for the reply and trying to help! Trying to unistall/install the modules I have tried several times. It works ok. It uninstalls and installs ok but doesnt solve the problem. When I click edit and change values and hit update no changes are made. No errors are reported. It looks like its working except it doesnt save the changes. And as said this only happens in the modules. Configuration, catalogue etc. update the changes I make as expected. And as said Ive tried re-installing everything from scratch and still the same problem. What about the cache? Or how about the cookies on the server? Where does oscommerce save data to other than the php files and mySQL database? These are things I have no clue about... Sammi
essami Posted October 3, 2006 Author Posted October 3, 2006 Anyone? Im really lost with this one... sami
mushindo Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 It saves the module values to the database, so it would not be a cache issue. And you are sure that when you make changes to the other areas within admin (configuration, products, categories, etc.) that it DOES apply those changes to the store front? If so I am at a total loss here. The only time I have ever seen that issue before is when you have two databases )one say from an erlier version of the store) and it is adding those into the wrong dbase. Thanks again for the answer. Yep, Everything else updates ok on the storefront. Everything seems to be ok except for the modules. How do I check if my database is correct and everything is ok there?
