rommany Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 Hello, Im sorry to say but its not a very good looking site, apart from making a nice header and adding products you have not made the site look very nice at all, some of the images are not loading, it took a long time to load, your checkout does not have a ssl so im not sure why you would have the secure logo on the front page, i would also move that to one of the sides. you have no conditions, shipping & returns, privacy notice details. I have not looked at how many links you have pointing to your site but at a guest not many and im also sure you have not added many contributions. So if i were you i would start working on the site before you worry about how many customers will be buying. Good luck

indiandvddoctor Posted October 2, 2006 Author Posted October 2, 2006 Romanny, Thanks for your feedback. i have a webmaster who is working on this issue for the past two months, since i have no knowledge for how do any type of update. how do i move the logo to the side of the page. also what can i do to improve the appearance of my site. let me know thanks david ramdat
Mediajuggle Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 I would take it off line until you get it looking proper. People who are visiting your site now probably won't return and then you'll have to spend your time trying to "rebrand" your site to previous customers. Dennis_gull Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 One thing you can do is to learn everything from the start. OsCommerce is not very hard to work with. About two months ago I didnt know anything about html or php but I made a site that looked kinda bad but still okay then I found OsCommerce for about 3 weeks ago and started to work with a shop site. I still dont know very much about html and php but I have made a pritty good looking site now and I can work with photoshop. If you get problems you can always ask here what to do, thats what I did and each day that pass will give you some usefull information so in the end you would know how to edit everything yourself ;) And one more thing, If your paying a guy (the webmaster) for that site I would for sure kick him right away because if you pay him you get ripped off for sure.
Dennis_gull Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 I found a link to his site on the bottom of your site and it says "E-Commerce websites Strating at $200.00" Thats unacceptable he just pasted the OsCommerce code and added a logo.
Guest Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 list of things for you to do (in my opinion) 1. install SSL security immediately! 2. install centre shop contribution: Download here.. your shop should be set at a definate 800 pixels 3. play around with your style sheet located in your root directory. it's called stylesheet.css. you should be looking to create a colour theme throughout your store. (http://www.colorschemer.com/online.html is a great place to find colours) 4. install a button configuration you like 5. visit other stores to get an idea of what should be said in your privacy statements etc. 6. install Ultimate SEO Urls module. this makes it so each product page addresses has important keywords in it. 7. start looking into marketing strategies you could impliment. Google has some really good programs. 8. and finally, buy a OSCommerce book for yourself. i recommend: OSCommerce: Beginners Edition... i learnt a lot from that book, and if you weigh up your potential future profit and the $29.95 price tag, i'm sure you'll agree it's worth it. I wish you all the best :)
