Hi Guys,

 

I am new here and need a bit of advice. I want to set up a subscription section on my OS Commerce store where people pay a monthly subscription fee and then get unlimited access to a section of the store that has downloadable games/software. Can OS Commerce do this and if so how? I am not sure how to set it up. Right now my store sells other related products and I dont want to stop selling them but I want to add this new feature for my customers. Any advice would be great.

this really depends on your setup, and you will have to add quite a bit of custom coding. Your payment module plays a relevant role, and the way you are planning to sellt he subscriptions (as in monthly, 6m packages, 12m packages payed in one step or separately, automatic expiry with renewing reminder or not).

 

Best bet for starting is the separate pricing per customer mod combined with hide items if not in custmer group. You can then have an subscription product which on purchase and payment shifts the customer to the new group, on expiry shifts back to regular customer. Like I said, a bunch of code you will have to write yourself.
