screege
Not being stellar at programming, this was a hard fix for me. I finally found the bug fix (in laymen's terms) :D http://www.oscommerce.com/community/bugs,3171 the 5th response down was very clear cut, and worked like a charm. Of course, then I had an error come up with the search function, but it was also clearly explained further down on the same page. Here are the fixes for those that might need them in the future: First, open "index.php" in an html editor and do this: Then open "advanced_search_results.php" in an html editor and do this: Problem Solved!!! I tried this and only works on the frontpage my search results which I changed the code still gets the error: 1054 - Unknown column 'c.categories_id' in 'where clause' select count(distinct p.products_id) as total from ((products p) left join manufacturers m using(manufacturers_id), products_description pd) left join specials s on p.products_id = s.products_id, categories C, products_to_categories p2c where p.products_status = '1' and p.products_id = pd.products_id and pd.language_id = '3' and p.products_id = p2c.products_id and p2c.categories_id = c.categories_id and ((pd.products_name like '%nivada%' or p.products_model like '%nivada%' or m.manufacturers_name like '%nivada%') ) [TEP STOP] Can anyone help? I am using PHP Version 5.2.5 and MYSQL Client API version 5.0.45 Thanks in advanced.
wooll3n
I just ran across this too on advanced_search_result.php -- with a slightly difference because I have the "extra fields" contribution installed. The code I'm replacing is /* old $from_str = "from (" . TABLE_PRODUCTS . " p left join " . TABLE_PRODUCTS_TO_PRODUCTS_EXTRA_FIELDS . " p2pef on p.products_id=p2pef.products_id) left join " . TABLE_MANUFACTURERS . " m on m.manufacturers_id=p.manufacturers_id, " . TABLE_PRODUCTS_DESCRIPTION . " pd left join " . TABLE_SPECIALS . " s on p.products_id = s.products_id, " . TABLE_CATEGORIES . " c, " . TABLE_PRODUCTS_TO_CATEGORIES . " p2c"; */ I found the 1054 contribution that says I should change it to $from_str = "from ((" . TABLE_PRODUCTS . " p) left join " . TABLE_MANUFACTURERS . " m using(manufacturers_id), " . TABLE_PRODUCTS_DESCRIPTION . " pd) left join " . TABLE_SPECIALS . " s on p.products_id = s.products_id, " . TABLE_CATEGORIES . " c, " . TABLE_PRODUCTS_TO_CATEGORIES . " p2c"; I know that I also need to put the TABLE_PRODUCTS_TO_PRODUCTS_EXTRA_FIELDS . " p2pef on p.products_id=p2pef.products_id) back into that statement but I'm not familiar with SQL so I'm not sure how. Would something please help me figure this out? THANK YOU! tibeta2
I've had the same problem when our website was switched to a new server. So far all the results posted here have fixed the store problems. The next step, however!.... When I log into our store's admin, the OSCommerce control panel, all our products are listed 20-30 times over. The same product will be switched on and off multiple times in the same list. On the web, the store works perfectly. I'm guessing this has something to do with the "categories.php" being altered, but don't know enough of the code to understand where it went wrong. HELP! (And thanks!)
Tsuri Japan
Well I'm on the 1054 error like many other people here.... Ok my server has now updated it's SQL and here are my specs. PHP version 5.2.5 MySQL version 5.0.45-community- log Apache version 2.2.6 (Unix) My error looks like this: 1054 - Unknown column 'p.products_id' in 'on clause' select count(p.products_id) as total from products_description pd, products p left join manufacturers m on p.manufacturers_id = m.manufacturers_id, products_to_categories p2c left join specials s on p.products_id = s.products_id where p.products_status = '1' and p.products_id = p2c.products_id and pd.products_id = p2c.products_id and pd.language_id = '1' and p2c.categories_id = '74' [TEP STOP] Now the part I can't figure out is this. We all have to change the advanced_search_result.php from this code in this help file: $from_str = "from " . TABLE_PRODUCTS . " p left join " . TABLE_MANUFACTURERS . " m using(manufacturers_id), " . TABLE_PRODUCTS_DESCRIPTION . " pd left join " . TABLE_SPECIALS . " s on p.products_id = s.products_id, " . TABLE_CATEGORIES . " c, " . TABLE_PRODUCTS_TO_CATEGORIES . " p2c"; But my code looks like this: $from_str = "from " . TABLE_PRODUCTS . " p left join " . TABLE_MANUFACTURERS . " m using(manufacturers_id) left join " . TABLE_SPECIALS . " s on p.products_id = s.products_id"; Basically going from one catergory won't work or the manufactors too. I need serious help on this because I have customers emailing me about this asking why...not good at all. Hope someone can help this guy out. vyoufinder
I can't seem to figure this out after days of trying. I have read this forum, other forums, searched Google and tried fixes: http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/index.php?sho...0304&st=20# http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,4654 http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/index.php?sho...30304&st=0# and http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,3727 To no avail. No changes whatsoever and it seems I am editing the wrong files. My index pages and advanced search pages didn't have any trouble. they still don't but as soon as a user goes to catalog/product_info.php I get the dreaded 1054 - Unknown column 'p.products_id' in 'on clause' error. Doing all of the changes does similar results but the best one is done by comparing files with this contribution: http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,3727 but still no luck. It didn't make things worse at least whereas some of the above methods messed up my category pages. I tried them all more than once and tried combinations of all the contributions. I am to the point I really need help here. I know it's annoying but I need to post my /product_info.php file here without any modifying in case someone out there would kindly take a look. vyoufinder
I haven't seen this fix posted anywhere previously: I managed to get the issue fixed on the product_info.php page. Turns out it was the catalog/includes/classes/PriceFormatter.php file. Anyone else having trouble on their product_info.php file not working and displaying the 1054 error: catalog/includes/classes/PriceFormatter.php Find: from " . TABLE_PRODUCTS_DESCRIPTION . " pd," . " " . TABLE_PRODUCTS . " p left join " . TABLE_MANUFACTURERS . " m on p.manufacturers_id = m.manufacturers_id," . " " . TABLE_PRODUCTS_TO_CATEGORIES . " p2c left join " . TABLE_SPECIALS . " s on p.products_id = s.products_id" and replace it with: from ((" . TABLE_PRODUCTS_DESCRIPTION . " pd," . " " . TABLE_PRODUCTS . " p )left join " . TABLE_MANUFACTURERS . " m on p.manufacturers_id = m.manufacturers_id," . " " . TABLE_PRODUCTS_TO_CATEGORIES . " p2c) left join " . TABLE_SPECIALS . " s on p.products_id = s.products_id" I didn't have to do any other fixes mentioned in this forum, just the change above in my customized cart. gurbir
i edited everything else and it worked fine. Only this thing is creating roblems and this is the code in index.php which is giving this error: $listing_sql = "select p.products_image, pd.products_name, p.products_id, p.manufacturers_id, p.products_price, p.products_tax_class_id, IF(s.status, s.specials_new_products_price, NULL) as specials_new_products_price, IF(s.status, s.specials_new_products_price, p.products_price) as final_price from products_description pd, products p left join manufacturers m on p.manufacturers_id = m.manufacturers_id, products_to_categories p2c left join specials s on p.products_id = s.products_id where p.products_status = '1' and p.products_id = p2c.products_id and pd.products_id = p2c.products_id and pd.language_id = '1' and p2c.categories_id = '".$current_category_id."' order by p.products_date_added DESC limit 2"; Can you please tell me what to edit in this code to make it work? xchinamanx
Hi, I changed the index.php and advanced search result with the right coding but now the formatting of my template has changed? The products show up now but it's not as good looking without the right formatting. Any suggestions?

Sorry, I just changed the codes with the right formatting by looking at the difference and applying the parenthesis myself. Thanks for the help! iankil
Hi guys! This is how i solved it. in simple words, It looks like its some kind of algebra thing were some db tables needs to be inbetween parentheses () for example $featured_products_query = tep_db_query("select p.products_id, p.products_image, p.products_tax_class_id, s.status as specstat, s.specials_new_products_price, p.products_price from ((" . TABLE_PRODUCTS . " p ) left join " . TABLE_SPECIALS . " s on p.products_id = s.products_id ) left join " . TABLE_FEATURED . " f on p.products_id = f.products_id where p.products_status = '1' and f.status = '1' order by rand($mtm) DESC limit " . MAX_DISPLAY_FEATURED_PRODUCTS); note that every time there is another "left join" i added a extra parenthese after "from" and before "left join" I hope this solves some of your errors ;) /Ian My contributions Mindsparx admin for 2.2 Mindsparx admin for 2.3 Mindsparx admin for 3.0 Mindsparx specials 2.2 Starproduct pimped for 2.2 Starproduct pimped for 2.3 Mindsparx template osc Sport 2.2 Mindsparx template Horizon 2.3 + a few more... Guest
I just ran across this too on advanced_search_result.php -- with a slightly difference because I have the "extra fields" contribution installed. I know that I also need to put the $from_str = "from (" . TABLE_PRODUCTS . " p left join " . TABLE_PRODUCTS_TO_PRODUCTS_EXTRA_FIELDS . " p2pef on p.products_id=p2pef.products_id) left join " . TABLE_MANUFACTURERS . " m on m.manufacturers_id=p.manufacturers_id, " . TABLE_PRODUCTS_DESCRIPTION . " pd left join " . TABLE_SPECIALS . " s on p.products_id = s.products_id, " . TABLE_CATEGORIES . " c, " . TABLE_PRODUCTS_TO_CATEGORIES . " p2c"; WITH THIS: $from_str = "from (((" . TABLE_PRODUCTS . " p) left join " . TABLE_PRODUCTS_TO_PRODUCTS_EXTRA_FIELDS . " p2pef on p.products_id=p2pef.products_id) left join " . TABLE_MANUFACTURERS . " m on m.manufacturers_id=p.manufacturers_id, " . TABLE_PRODUCTS_DESCRIPTION . " pd) left join " . TABLE_SPECIALS .
