changing products results in blank title, description, etc.

This started on one of our carts several months ago. now it is happening on a second cart...

 

Whenever editing a product on either of these two carts, after changes are made within admin for the product, the preview page comes up blank with a zero dollar amount, no title, no description, etc. Pressing update at that point will change the database to blank values causing us to have to rebuild the product via direct database editing.

 

There doesnt seem to be a cause for this but with 2 out of 3 carts exhibiting this behavior I am starting to question the stability of osCommerce and whether we made the best choice in choosing this for our ecommerce solution. Our third cart is still working okay but I am concerned that over time this same problem will rear it's ugly head on that cart as well.

 

This is the second posting on this subject, we added a posting several months ago and received absolutely no help but I am hopeful I am not the only one out there with this anomoly and that someone has a solution.

 

Whatever could cause the osCommerce product editing to begin this strange behavior and how can we fix it?
