DefMall Owner Posted September 29, 2006 Posted September 29, 2006 HI! My site has been doing well as of late, but I noticed something that troubles me. I have a few Google ads for the higher ticket items. The Video Rocker has a 2.11% CTR (click thru rate), but no sales. The item is priced competitively, and truly is made from better materials that generic versions. Maybe there is something in the presentation of the product(s) that I am not seeing? Can anyone reccomend what could be the problem? The google link for the video rockers takes you here on my site: http://www.defmall.netfirms.com/CommercePr...php?cPath=21_28 Any feedback is appreciated!

Fix the from main page it is too wide, and you might want to put more appealing pictures. Monito
♥toyicebear Posted September 29, 2006 Posted September 29, 2006 1. to slow loading time due to picture size, get a thumbnails contribution. 2. "Comes in a assortment of colors, so choose the one that best belongs in your room! " , sounds ok..but there are no choice of color in the product info page! and "We can e-mail you color samples if you want a better idea of what these look like! Need a DIFFERENT color? E-mail us at [email protected] if you are looking for a color not currently shown in this store! " Why not install a multi picture contribution and show the color samples on the site? 3. the site design and the standard osc cartoon images does not give a very professional first impression of your site. Remove the cartoonish icons and rework the design and logo a little bit more. 4. No contact information 5. Your about us , parivacy and shipping pages needs a brush over. its ok to be funny but its better to do so other places than pages where customers are looking to gauge your site/companies seriousness and gain enough confidence to palce an order. 6. Maybe show that you accept CC and Paypal a little more prominently. DefMall Owner Posted October 2, 2006 Author Posted October 2, 2006 Thanks everyone! I would have replied sooner but I had an emergency that took me away for the weekend. I have tried downloading a thumbnail editor, but try as I might I STILL do not understand how to 'install' the function. Any contribution I looked into just gave me menus and sub-menus. If anyone can reccomend a thumbnail editor that a newbie can easily install and use, I'd be greatful!
abra123cadabra Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 I can only agree. Your images are too big and, sorry to say that, your shop doesn't look professional at all. You need to give all the info and images to your potential customer that he needs to make a purchase decision. No "more info when you ask us" or even "this product image is shag style and the description you are reading is flat style". How misleading is this? This "our rockers are much better" description is not good for sales. If you need to show that your products are better manufactured, show a detail picture and mention the feature. The way you do it right now, the customer (who might be comparing diffent shops) is left with the impression that probably everything else he's seen before is crap. This is not what you want. You want to sell your goods because they are good not because the competitors product is inferior. abra The First Law of E-Commerce: If the user can't find the product, the user can't buy the product. Feedback and suggestions on my shop welcome. Note: My advice is based on my own experience or on something I read in these forums. No guarantee it'll work for you! Make sure that you always BACKUP the database and the files you are going to change so that you can rollback to a working version if things go wrong.
