Database update problem

Hello everybody!

I am a new user of oscommerce, I have the latest edition (http://sales.campingreece.gr) and I experience the following problem. When my orders are going through paypal for the credit card payment then sometimes (almost 50%) then the only mail I get is from Paypal and not from oscommerce. When I enter the admin the new customers are not there! Its like they enter, order and pay but I get only the paypent email, my database is not updated with the new customer. Please help, its a big problem because the paypal email does not say which product did the customer ordered!!

This happens when the customer doesn't return to your shop after successful payment with paypal. A quick forum search should bring up quite a few of threads with exactly this problem.


You can solve it by installing either the order logging or the paypal IPN contribution or even just changing your settings in your paypal account.

Note: My advice is based on my own experience or on something I read in these forums. No guarantee it'll work for you! Make sure that you always BACKUP the database and the files you are going to change so that you can rollback to a working version if things go wrong.

I have a similar issue, however, I have the IPN mod installed. It does get the order information successfully, and I can view all of it through the admin panel. I would like the order that is captured to still be forwarded via email. Is there a way for it to do this?
