scsbshop Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 First off thank you to the community for all your support. I’ve spent hours digging through the forums finding answer and tips to my various questions. Now after a month my site is finally up and running and I would appreciate the communities feed back. www.unforgettableplace.com Please be as brutal as you need to be. I really want this site to work and am open to any suggestions that would improve it. Thanks, Seth *Made link clickable*
scsbshop Posted October 1, 2006 Author Posted October 1, 2006 Well i have 93 views and no responses...does that mean my site is perfect? :P I made a few changes to the site to make it a little more customer friendly. 1. Installed the Product Listing in Columns V2.2 contribution. 2. Added a Details button beside the Add to Cart button using code from Rochdalemark. That code is here. I removed the break in the code so they stayed on the same line. 3. I made the top picture on my product listing pages about 1/3 the size. That way customers don't have to scroll down before they see any products. Do you think i should list 6 or 9 items? Is it better if the customer doesn?t have to scroll? Thanks, Seth
Guest Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 Hiya mate! Just had a quick look and from what I saw, it looks pretty good. Do you think i should list 6 or 9 items? Is it better if the customer doesn?t have to scroll? Personally, I feel that the less scrolling, the better. Some of what I liked about your site: The colours - I like that the colours aren't in-your-face or hard on the eyes The header - I like where you have "My Account" etc positioned as well as the Search box. The simplicity - the site is not too busy, which is a good thing Some of what I think could be improved: The arrows beside the catagories - just not big fan of them and they just look a little 'half-ar$ed' for want of a better term :P The welcome message appears below the picture - somehow I think it'd work better above The shopping cart box is in the bottom left-hand corner below privacy/information box - I'd prefer to see this somewhere more obvious, like top right-hand corner say Finally, the dynamic submenu for Decor - it's not all that bad and I'm a bit undecided on it truth be told. I guess I'm just not a big fan of 'things-that-move'. :) Hope the feedback helps FWIW. Good luck with the site!
