I installed osCommerce. My store is not based on osCommerce. I want to use osCommercie only as a shopping cart. I couldn't find specific directions on how to do this.

Can someone help with more details?

Thanks!

You need to add a link in your site that says Shop, or whatever, to the oscommerce home page.

hi jack. I added the link that says shop. (mystore.com/shop) Can I create my own add to cart button on my main website that will go directly into this shopping cart. That's what i'm trying to find.

Thanks

Oscommerce uses what are called Session ID's (SID's) to track the customers. Your html shop doesn't have these SID's so it can't do what you want. There is a contribution that allows you to extend the SID's to your html site. That may do what you want. I'm sorry but I can't recall the name. Something to do woth outside of shop as I recall. If you search the contributions section for that, you may be able to find it.

mimeene,

Question...Are you using your site as a catalog and in your site when a

customer finds something they want to buy presses the buy button which

brings the information to the oscommerce site shopping cart and the

checkout is done on the oscommerce...?

No I want to use osCommerce only as a shopping cart. I want the checkout to happen on PayPal. It's looking more an more possible that I can't do this. My website is html & java. I don't think I can upload all of this to osCommerce.

All the languages work together Oscommerce can be mixed into other

web sites...But you are going to have to do some coding...The shopping

cart is part of Oscomerce and the shopping cart triggers the Oscommerce chectout system thru to the payment module...creating and order transaction and so on...If I understand you correctly alot of

modification is required on your end.
