Changing Header images from "gif" to "jpg"

I am having trouble changing the image source in "/includes/header.php" from Gif to Jpeg. I can change the php code and I can also upload the new jpeg image, but oscommerce doesn't like the Jpeg, it will only recognize the gif... am I missing something?

Thanks.

all you have to do is replace the image.gif file with your image.jpg file. don't forget to load your jpg file to your images folder. if it isn't on your server it wont show up after you upload the new code

Okay, I wasn't clear. I have already loaded the jpeg onto the FTP in the correct folder (same as gif) and I also changed the php code in the header.php file and uploaded that as well to the FTP in the correct folder (over-wrote old header.php)...

Also, a Note: the original gif file is 1.7kb and the new jpeg is 22.5kb. Could this be an issue?

Now, am I to understand that there shouldn't be a problem with osCommerce handling a jpeg? So I can assume that I am doing something wrong on my side?

Is there another file besides header.php that I need to edit?

Thanks.
