Art shop gallery where artists expose their work

Hello from Athens!!!

I want to ask something general, but i hope you can answer it.

 

I want to create an online bazaar area where artists open accounts and list

their products to the web. Then the potential clients browse those artists and

but the thing they like best. So i will be in between, give some space, interface

and receive payment modules to the artists and an online shop gallery and send

payments moduleto the clients.

 

I m using joomla a lot in many webistes that i host and maintain so

i have some ideas for doing it in Joomla.

Nevertheless i believe that oscommerce is more powerfull when

it goes to online shopping.

So i break it down,

is this possible with oscommerce(i dont need the solution just tell me if its

done before and i ll find my way out),

if not, do u know another open source or commercial cms that can do the work?

Hey, thank u for the quick reply.

Do u have any live examples o f what i described so i can visualise it?

Think it like an auction website only there is no auction,

just artists who register and pay me a fee for this and gives their info to the system so when a clients reach their artwork can pay him direct.

 

PS: the payment can be made by my account only if the above is not possible
