Raw_Chao Posted September 25, 2006 Author Posted September 25, 2006 Pay pal , and credit card, But is ther a way to get a email notic of purchases
♥Vger Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 If all of your purchases say 'Credit Card' then they have used the Credit Card module to pay you - which means you don't have the money at all. At best you have a record in the database of their card details, which you then have to process yourself. Best to disable to Credit Card module and just use Pay Pal. Make sure that in osCommerce admin, under My Store you have entered a valid email address where it says 'Send extra order emails to'. Vger
dheathorn Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 I've read all this, and it doesn't make much sense. Somebody said what payment gateway do I use. I'm not sure what this means.. How does the Credit Card feature work? Does it store the credit card number in the database, and then I have to go process the order by punching in the credit card number? Or does it do it some otherway? Cheers, Derrick.
♥Vger Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 Does it store the credit card number in the database, and then I have to go process the order by punching in the credit card number? Or does it do it some otherway? All that the Credit Card module does is to check the card number agains a list of known card number formats in the cc_validation module in osCommerce. The default Credit Card module in osCommerce is 3 years out of date and will reject a lot of (new) valid card numbers. The idea behind it is that you then take that data and run it through an EPOS (Electronic Point Of Sale) terminal in a shop you own (a real 'bricks and mortar' shop), but this would now violate both Visa and Mastercard Terms Of Service - which is why I told you not to use it and to use Pay Pal instead. The Credit Card module should actually be removed from osCommerce. Vger
