fatjack Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 Just this minute registered on this forum. Have been playing with osc for a couple of weeks now and have found answers to all my questions so far by searching the posts - so thank you all for that. I'm setting up shop for my friend am testing online now and have already been hacked - my products box and manufacturers drop down menu has been populated with links to a sex store. When I look in admin however everything seems ok - looking at files via ftp and control panel seem unchanged too. Any idea how I can rectify and secure please? the shop is http://www.flynnsbeefarm.co.uk/catalog/
241 Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 I see no manufacturers drop menu at the site and no offsite links from the products therefore where is the issue? No longer giving free advice. Please place deposit in meter slot provided. Individual: [=] SME: [==] Corporation: [===] If deposit does not fit one of the slots provided then you are asking too much! Is your Osc dated try Phoenix raising oscommerce from the ashes.
pynchon Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 I see them at least I presume yr man doesn't sell Bondage and Rubber Play products curiously the other store is also an oscommerce one could there be some mix up with the database .... that they (the devus bdsm site) could be inadvertently inputting products into your database ? I've got no ideas as to a solution ... you may need to contact your hosting company for advice and investigation.
fatjack Posted September 24, 2006 Author Posted September 24, 2006 is it just me then seeing links to: http://www.devus.co.uk/catalog/index.php/cPath/19 http://www.flynnsbeefarm.co.uk/catalog/index.php oops sorry john post crossed over - you'd think if they were uploading to my site in error I'd see the files in admin

I don't know the answer either, but this is usually blamed on shared servers. Tim
pyramids Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 An idea.... Search for the offending domain (devus) Download a copy of the full database (or go to phpmyadmin and check each table) open it and search for the domain name of the offending domain (devus) if you find it you will need to delete (or correct) it - through the admin (or phpmyadmin) (my guess is it is in the manufactures_info & manufactures table) If you do find this domain there then you will need to also Change the user and password for the database go to cPanel, then to mysql databases, then to Add Users To Your Databases Add a new user and password, Keep this window open, open you configure.php files and changes the user and password Visit the site make sure you can access it catalog and admin if so, then go back to the cpanel - Current Users: and delete the original user/password.

fatjack Posted September 25, 2006 Author Posted September 25, 2006 Thanks for that, but doesn't seem to be drawing information from database - manufactures_info & manufactures table are empty a search revealed nothing will phone the hosts (compila) today. btw sorry about the full quote above - not used to using this board - you'd think reply was the right button
