shipping rates (based on weights) problem

Hi folks,

I recently installed the latest release of osCommerce 2.2, created new shop, configured. Everything is great, I still cannot believe that such a great product is free. However, I have a problems with shipping rates, which are based on weights. I tried several different contributions but every one displays 0 and doesn't count the real weights of products. What am I missing?

To me, the first thing you are missing is the clarity in your question :) : what is it that displays zero, is it weight or shipping charges, and why you need to try different contrubitions, as the table rate module included in osCommerce would do the job after some simple editting (changing the rates), or is it that it failed to work?

We need more details..

thanks for your reply. Forget the contribs for now. I used zone shipping method and configured like this:

 

Enable Zones Method

True

 

Tax Class

--none--

 

Sort Order

0

 

Zone 1 Countries

DE,SK

 

Zone 1 Shipping Table

1:500,2:800,3:1000

 

Zone 1 Handling Fee

0

 

I put a product (weight 1kg) into basket, proceed to checkout. Zone shipping method displays 0,-

the problem will be elsewhere. I expanded the list of

Zone 1 Shipping Table

1:500,2:800,3:1000

 

to

Zone 1 Shipping Table

1:500,2:800,3:1000,4:2000

 

and the zones shipping method now displays Shipping to SK: 3.5kg.....2000

 

But, the only product in basket has weight of 1kg only...?!

You may want to try changing the settings under Configuration -> Shipping/Packaging -> Package Tare weight and Larger packages - percentage increase
