Japanese oscommerce Shop

Hi there, I am intending to open up a internet shop in japan. Due to the fact I am quite new with oscommerce, I got some questions regarding oscommerce. I would be very happy if some of you could help me.

Does anybody of you have any experience with japanese shops, maybe somone got an example that I could take a look at. The thing I am wondering right now ist wether to use the english version of oscommerce and install the japanese language pack or if I should use the Japanese version of oscommerce (which is a much bigger deal) When looking for the japanese language pack, I could only find a pack for milestone 1. Is there a version for milestone 2 already? As I am intending to serve Japanese customers only, it is compelling that everythin in the frontend ist in japanes, but it would be much more convenient for me to have english in the backend. I would appreciate some hints. Sorry for posing such basic questions, but I could not find the information I need in the forum.

and most japanese understand english very well so an english and japanese shop will go down just as well as a japanese only shop......also if you are not fluent in japanese, people will probably prefer your english descriptions for products anyway

Thanks for the quick reponse, I actually found a japanese store in the meantime.

The question remaining is, which version of oscommerce I should use. The English one, or the original Japanese. As mentioned before, I cannot find any Japanese language Pack for the recent milestone.

Being Foreign and living in Japan I can say you are miles off with that comment. Most Japanese do not understand English very well.

 

The Newer version of of OSC is probalby the way you want to go as most contribs are written for it.

It is the MS1 language files, but you could edit them into MS2.2
