First contact with OS commerce

Hello ppl..

 

First of all i have to tell u that i just had my first contact with OS Commerce one week ago.. Thnx to this forum, i menaged to install it and to configure it! :) So, everything is ok now.. I had some issues but as i sad, i was searching the forum solutions. :)

 

Now i have one stupid questions! I mean, i know it can be done, but i just dont know how! So, here it is.. How can i put for exmpl, two or more pictures for some product? One is ok, but there r things that require more then one photo..

 

Can someone please explain me this? :) Thnx in advance and sorry for my bad English!

You need to install a contribution that will give you that option. There are several available. I favor Mopics.

I have downloaded the version 3.

 

New Install on a fresh MS2:

 

1. Copy files from `install_files/catalog` to your osCommerce catalog installation.

2. Import SQL file `_install_sql/INSTALL_v3.000.sql` to your database.

3. Copy files from `changed_files/MS2/catalog` to your osCommerce catalog installation.

 

 

Hmm.. how do i import this SQL file? Thru MySql Admin or how?

You should have phpMyAdmin or similar.

 

I guess mySql Admin is similar but I have never used it .

Yup it is pretty much same! One is PHP based and the other one is an APP that connects to server and does the job..

Guys i did it.. Now i only need to see how to put more pictures for some product but i guess it is easy.. I will read README or something like that! :)

I have a feeling that something is missing! I mean, i dont see the full thing! :( I have only a Directory option and nothing more!

You installed Dyanmic Mopics, not Mopics. There is a big difference. I don't care for Dynamic Mopics myself, which is why I recommended Mopics. For Dynamic Mopics, there is a lot more involved in setting it up. The only benefit is that you can display more that the extra six images Mopics has. If you need to have more than six, then stick with Dynamic Mopics. Otherwise, back it out and install Mopics.

 

To find any contribution, click on the Community->Contribution menu item above. Then search for the name in the search box of that window.
