jpweber Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 They're trying not to give a standard "timeline", Jerome, which can just lead to unnecessary stress, and Haold and his crew are already working hard enough. But they're hoping by the end of the year / beginning of 2007, that 3.0 will be released. Right now, they just made 3.0 Alpha 3 public, and they go up to Alpha 6. So by the end of the year, or beginning of next year, start looking for announcements. And that doesn't mean you have to switch, either, if you choose not to. Some people already modified their MS 2.2's so that they already have the features 3.0 will have to offer. Regardless of whatever you choose, look at the Community / Roadmap link above for more details about when 3.0 will be released. boxtel Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 :'( you will use 3.0 at your own discretion. But 3.0 will remain an empty shell for a long time as all contributions (which makes osc a viable webstore option) are incompatible with that version. And I do not see any worthwhile contributions being converted/upgraded without the existence of any 3.0 system documentation. So if you want an osc webstore before the end of 2007 you may have to choose 2.2 Treasurer MFC
Guest Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 I would have to agree, OSC 3 does look good, but unfortunately even when it is released it will not have all the functionality of OSC 2 with all the contribs available.
