Overall width

I can?t seem to make the width of the overall store smaller than 800pixals. I have created a table with a width of 600px in the includes/header.php. Is there another files that I am missing that would restrict it from going any narrower.

 

 

NOTE: I have also disabled all boxes.

normally, products next to each other or long text with no breaks are causing this issue. No way to tell without seeing it though.

here is the store.... not much to it yet, i just want to get the header and footer bars down to 5 or 6 hundred pixels.

well, you have done it correctly. Replace the text in the language file for index.php ... it has a few nobreak lines ;-) (green) that force the page width.

Here is what i found in the index file under English. I don't see anything that is affecting the width.

you don't? your flash is 550px (width="550"), and each column is 125

 

As you have not defined the header and footer width independent of the middle part, it will of course stretch.

 

BTW, your site opens in default version for me (thus all the green) with no chance to change the language unless you are a hacker like me.

Here is what I have added to the header, and the closing tags are obviously in the footer. I have turned the right and left columns off with the Box Admin, do I need to delete the columns all together in order to make the width smaller.

 

 

Also, I?m unclear what you mean by opening in the default version.

if you do not delete the extra languages, someone with a German browser (like me) will see the default osCommerce text in German.

I see, thank you for the info. What exactly does the ?my flash? contrab do?

Didn't you read it? It gets rid of that annoying Bill Gates "Click to Acitvate this control" message that now comes with any <object>. I saw people charging 20-30 bucks for the solution, so I just thought I'd make sure the OSC community had it.
