milauskas Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 Hi all, I installed osC for a client and everything is going okay except they've noticed that when someone sends a message through the Contact Us form they receive an email thanking them for their purchase. Of course, they haven't purchased anything, just sent an inquiry. How do I fix this? Can I alter the message that gets sent to them? Is there a reason that osC is sending a "thank you for your order" email in response to an inquiry? This seems like it shouldn't be this way. Any help is (as always) greatly appreciated. Thanks! MM

milauskas Posted September 22, 2006 Author Posted September 22, 2006 Unfortunately I'm not proficient enough. I looked at contact_us.php but my php perhaps isn't good enough to tell. Can you point me in the right direction? This is an area where I haven't needed to work with before--never had this problem. Thanks again. typo: contact_us.php If you installed this for a client, I'm sure you are proficient enough to check the file that is sending the contact us message.
♥Monika in Germany Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 emails are sent by the tep_mail function. Check how many you have in that file. I hate to ask this, but you ARE using the latest version of osCommerce or have the patches applied? It would really worry me if you sold you clients insecure versions, especially the email feature and other security stuff that has been long fixed. This doesn't have anything to do with your current issue, it just really strikes me. May I also suggest reading the documentation for MS 2.2 and maybe a few good books on the topic? If you are offering a tool professionally it's not clever not to know enough about it. :-) Monika addicted to writing code ... can't get enough of databases either, LOL! my toolbox: Textpad - Compare and Merge - phpMyAdmin - WS_FTP - Photoshop - How to search the forum Interactive Media Award July 2007 ~ category E-Commerce my advice on the forum is for free, PMs where you send me work are considered consultation which I charge for ...
