How do I get user input for customizing products?

Hey guys. I run a decal webstore. Right now all the decals I sell are stock decal images. What I'd like to do is expand and allow the customer add their own text to the decal and also choose their own font. Can someone tell me if this functionality (customizing via text box) is built into OSC or if there is an add-on for it?

 

Also, all of my decals have a fixed set of parameters in regard to their size and color. Is there an easy way to set these attributes when I add a new decal? I've purchased some new equipment that allows me to cut bigger decals and I'm not looking forward to adding the additional sizes by hand for the hundreds of decals I already have in my catalog.

Just a little additional information in case I wasn't clear in what I'm trying to accomplish. Here's an example, I have a decal of a baseball player swinging a bat. I would like to give the customer the option to enter their kid's name in a text box so that I can add the name to the baseball player swinging a bat decal. I'd like to also be able to add their number or whatever else they'd like to the decal. The product image would be created so that they would know that the child's name is textbox1 and the child's number is textbox 2.

 

On my other question, I do use easy populate but find it cumbersome for what I am trying to do. Is there any good tools out there that will help you generate an EP file that can then be added to the database? The changes I need to make are to every item (400+) in my store.

Can I conclude that this functionality is not available in the base distribution and/or in any contribs? Or is it so blatantly obvious that I am just missing it altogether?
