Category Tree

I am very good at modifying code, but one thing I have always had problems with. The osCommerce Category Tree. I have always wanted a true dynamic system to better reflect an advanced layout. So, I did some searching and I actually found a great tree structure. One problem. It isn't in osCommerce or even php. In fact, it is a cold fusion based tree that runs under windows. Ok, I am so not going to cold fusion and ditching my php knowledge for ms windows. That would seriously limit anyones scope of decisions that could be made and systems being used.

 

So, we have some very advanced osCommerce programmers, why not put it out there. Is there any human possibility of creating such a tree structure within osCommerce and how would one go about doing such a thing. The example I viewed was at http://www.pcclub.com
